Better late than never… The holidays were a whirlwind of joy and trauma and work, work, work. Consequently, I’m just now getting around to posting about our fabulous student showcase for the inaugural Burlesque Uprising class on November 30. It was a tight knit affair of close friends and loved ones celebrating the progress of six powerful, provocative women in the same lovely little studio where we worked and learned and laughed every week in class. We saw stylistically new and challenging acts from Rhythm & Boobs veterans Romany Jewel and Maxine Charisma (better known as alternate persona Brazen Hell), bold and clever (and messy) seductions from up and comers Lola Loquacious and Vixen Kitten, and the debut of newly minted ecdysiasts Anastacia Vulgar and Psyren Damson. I couldn’t be prouder of these magnificent creatures and the art they created, and I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with them in Rebel Rebel KC productions, private lessons, and in the next session of Burlesque Uprising (starting January 14 – info here).
Special thanks to Steve Thompson of H-Phase Digital for the beautiful documentation!
